Israeli soldiers abducted, Monday evening, two young Palestinian men from Nur Shams refugee camp, east of the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem, after stopping them at a military roadblock.

Ibrahim Nimir, the head of the Tulkarem office of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS), said the soldiers at the Ennab military roadblock, east of Tulkarem, stopped and searched many cars before abducting Assem Hifthy Abu Libda, 22, and Hammouda Abu Zanat, who was accompanying them.

The soldiers initially detained Assem and his father while returning from a hospital after a heart catheterization procedure.

Assem is the brother of Saif Hifthy Abu Libda, 25, who was killed two days earlier by undercover Israeli soldiers who also killed two other Palestinians in the same attack at the ‘Arraba junction, south of Jenin.
